  • Doesn't holographic pigment fade?

Yes, all holographic pigment fades to some extent except for SpectraFlair. Our holographic magnetic pigment fades slightly within the first few weeks, but still retains it's holo flare. All of our holographic magnetic polishes look best when fully dry and in direct sunlight.

  • Do your thermals "die"?

Any thermal pigment can get "stuck" in either the warm or cold state, though we haven't had this happen yet with our thermal polishes. It depends on the pigment manufacturer. Our thermal testers are currently 8 months old!

The risk increases if you store your thermal polishes in a warm area or in sunlight.

  • What is a jelly versus a crelly?

A jelly polish means the base color is intentionally transparent in order to let any glitters, shimmers, and flakes show through as strong as possible.

A crelly polish has a little more pigment than a jelly, but is still translucent. Crelly polishes are usually opaque in 2-3 coats.

  • Can UV polishes also get stuck?

We could not find any evidence of photochromic (UV reactive) pigments getting stuck like thermal pigments do. We do not recommend exposing your photochromic polishes to direct UV light for prolonged periods or time or storing them in sunlight.
