Many Dungeons and Dragons players have come across a tempting magic item called the Deck of Many Things. Each card has a unique effect ranging from gaining wealth, changing your alignment, increasing your attributes, to summoning the avatar of death who challenges you to 1:1 combat. Anything can happen, and for many, it’s tempting to give it a try.

One of our party members, Alexandria, played a parlour game with a sketchy man in the desert. She attempted to call him out for cheating. The guy trapped Alexandria within a glass ball, which Dramora dispelled immediately. As recompense, the man offered us a Deck of Many Things.

Thankfully, none of us wanted to mess with the deck, especially Dramora. Sometimes the party makes the right decision. I count this one as a huge win, who knows what could horrors could have befallen us?

We ended up stowing the deck in a bag and giving it away to some random NPC. Good luck to them!
